LP news LP Twp. police Lt. David Hogentogler (pictured) has accepted a job as the township's human resource director. He had been writing the press releases that I use for posting police reports. ... LP Twp. is applying for a recycling grant from the state for equipment that will be used to process and compost leafy and woody waste at the compost facility on Conway Road. The list of equipment includes a grinder/recycler, John Deere 6430 tractor and a tandem axle truck. ... LP police will host a free youth police academy July 14-18 for youth between the ages of 13 and 15. ... I received a letter from Waste Management that explains the township's new leaf waste program and provides info on what day pickups will occur. ... Linglestown updates The planned roundabout in the village square is being debated again on PennLive's Linglestown Forum. (See thread #403.) ... Sunday afternoon I walked by Koons Pool and happened upon a young man who was trying to figure out where to enter the pool since the main entrance was closed. It turns out that the big gate located behind the snack bar was being used as the entrance, and the snack bar was the check-in spot. There were about 10 patrons at the pool.
